Due to our optimized cutting process we are in a position to produce extremely short sections from rods and tubes which can, among others, be used for covering sensors and sensible components. Alternative manufacturing methods require much more work, like e.g. drilling circular cut-outs into small slices later. However, there is one disadvantage: the surface of the slices that have been produced by cutting them off a tube or rod are finely matt. This structure can be corrected by fire-polishing the surface later, but this polish, however, cannot fulfil optical standards. |
Further options during the production

With a groove in the rod or tube, cut in before the single sections are cut off, special gaps in the slices can be created through which wires or other elements can be lead.
For the production of the slices, there are different glass qualities available in form of tubes, like e.g. soda glass (lime-sodium carbonate glass), borosilicate glass 3.3, Kovar sealing glass, lead glass or quartz glass and some other materials. Even materials similar to glass, like ceramics, ca be processed this way. |
